Sometimes when we are so close to the death of a loved one, we experience our own renewal. We learn how to give real, genuine, sacrificial love. We realize, 'I'll never be this good again."
So, I realized tonight that I rarely visit my own website. Life is a whirlwind, isn't it? Just like you, I am busy with work and family. We are living in precarious times in this world of ours. May we extend grace and love to all.
I will be doing a reading and lecture of Mac's Evening by the Sea on March 24th, 2018 at 11:AM, at Bookworks in Albuquerque, NM. I will talk about the use of narrative, art and writing and how it can aid the healing process during times of grief and loss. Hope you can join us. Greetings. Well as you can see from the transit chart, there has been quite a bit of activity in Capricorn for the past several months. The Sun and Venus just left Capricorn.
On the January 16th, the New Moon joined up with Venus, the Sun, Pluto, Mercury and Saturn which were all in Capricorn. Just to refresh your memory, Capricorn rules the 10th House in the Natural Zodiac which has to do with our occupation, our mark and purpose in this world, the patriarchy and ambition, It is the most striving sign. Saturn rules Capricorn and as an astrologer, I tend to look at the placement of Saturn in one's natal chart to glean what type of occupation would be probable and favorable.
Just like all of the signs, Capricorn also has a shadow side. The shadow of Capricorn is dictatorship, harshness, arrogance, and ruler-ship "with an iron fist." I think we can look at the macro level, of what is happening in this world of ours to get an idea of how powerful these planets have been as they all joined together in Capricorn. You may want to look at your natal chart to see how these transits have and will continue to impact you on a micro level. Spend a few moments reflecting on the past several months and get a sense of your general mood and the events that have transpired in your life.
I have Mars, North Moon Node and Chiron (the wounded healer) in Capricorn, so these transits really had an impact on me. I felt more intense accompanied by an unusual sense of hopelessness and powerlessness particularly in regard to the issues that are dear to my heart: injustice, prejudice, inequality.
On December 25th as Venus and Saturn both entered Capricorn, I was sick with a virus which necessitated me immediately stopping my hectic pace and taking to my bed. It gave me the opportunity to take a needed timeout to care for and nurture myself. Saturn is all about slowing down and limitation and Venus is about self-care and chocolate. I definitely honored Venus and Saturn on that day.
On January 16th, the New Moon seemed to bring many of us relief and a sense of beginning anew. When Venus left Capricorn and entered Aquarius on the 18th, it seemed to solidify a sense that everything is as it should be. As Bob Marley sings, "Everything's Gonna Be Alright."
This will be a weekly process group for women beginning 02/25/18. We will be exploring our dreams together. I will provide education and information on the role of dream-work and dream interpretation in a therapeutic environment. As our world becomes more chaotic and unpredictable, women are expressing a need to "come out of the shadows" and join together for support and insight. This group will consist of 5 women who are interested in understanding their dreams in a supportive setting. We will utilize active imagination in order to bring our dream images into our circle. The group will meet on Sundays from 4:PM to 6:PM in my office. The cost will be $40 per session.
